We have the most beautiful wedding to share today, which includes a stunning wedding film by Clive at PigMint Film. The couple, Rachel and Errol chose the breathtaking backdrop of Lough Erne Resort to say their vows and just wait until you see Errol’s entrance, it’s pretty memorable that’s for sure. Enjoy and have a great weekend! Don’t forget tomorrow and Sunday the Wedding Open Weekend is happening at Lough Erne Resort, where they will be revealing their newly transformed Ross Suite, for more information visit www.lougherneresort.com/love.
Couple: Rachel + Errol Clarke
The couple met in a very unusual way – Errol picked Rachel out of a photograph and made it his mission to find her! After a strategic introduction the couple had their firs date in Zen and the rest is history!
Proposal: We got engaged in Galway - a fab city where we spent lots of romantic weekends. Errol went down on one knee over lunch, I was very surprised but delighted and ecstatic! It was such a fab moment - even the waitress cried as she brought us a bottle of Prosecco! We drank champagne the whole afternoon and were surrounded by so many well-wishers who were total strangers but were as happy as us, it was the perfect moment!
Wedding date: Friday 20th May 2016
Venue: Lough Erne Resort, Enniskillen.
Our Planning: Very quickly after our engagement and engagement celebrations we started planning. We went to Lough Erne Resort first and just one other place and once we had confirmed dates, things went from there - quickly but fairly smoothly. Living locally and as regulars to Lough Erne Resort, it is and has always been a super special place to us and a firm favourite, on all levels. Hence it was our obvious choice and for many reasons far outshone any of the other 5* venues we may have even just tentatively viewed during our initial planning. This just served to affirm how lucky we are to have this world class venue on our doorstep. As well as the stunning setting and magical location, Lough Erne Resort is consistently such an 'experience' - the second you enter its walls. Every time this strikes me as you make your way up the long and inviting driveway, passing the world famous golf course to this dream location which awaits you on the other side of the drawbridge. Really - venue choice was an easy decision for us! A hands on groom made decisions as easy as possible - luckily i had one! As well as very capable Mum who I consulted with on pretty much all the major decisions - flowers, stationery but mainly my dress.
Our Highlights: Honestly - aside from how perfect things went from start to end (apart from a 45min late Bride!) - that all our amazing friends and families enjoyed and relished every second of it as much as we did!!! Apart from getting married, what's the best thing we've done together? Getting our little cockapoo puppy Molly! Someone even brought her on the day for us.
Our Wedding Film: We found Clive at PigMint Film and have to say he was amazing. Almost a year later we both watch this all the time and literally every time are overwhelmed and just so glad we can cherish the memories - as well as catch all the little bits that we missed on the day. We chose to have a film as we wanted to be able to cherish every second as a memory as you can't turn back the clock. Our family and friends just love watching it too.
Our Advice: Discuss all together! Luckily my groom, now hubby, was very hands on and helped where he possibly could. Don't get too many opinions on dresses. I only took my mum and her friends whose opinion I so regard and brought all the girls and bridesmaids once I was sorted - and they only saw me on the day. Kept it all a surprise! Mainly relax and enjoy it all - wedding planning can feel stressful whilst organising but it is over so soon - genuinely enjoy the planning because only get once to do it.
