Good morning. Well, after a week of school being back we are eventually getting back on track here at The Promise! We’ve welcomed a new face to the flock -more about her soon, but she’s lovely and a little bit nuts like someone else around here- and are in full planning mode! I think the change in seasons will do that to you; new season, new outlook and ideas.
This morning we’re keeping it relaxed and informal with a natural engagement shoot from Lynn Stanfield Photography. Ashleen and Padhraig look effortlessly in love, as we think you’ll agree…
Our love story
“I’m originally from Coalisland and Padhraig’s from Dungiven, we now live in Dungiven. We met on a night out at The Glenavon in Cookstown and had a great laugh.”
“Padhraig proposed on Christmas morning, last year. I love Christmas, it’s my favourite time of the year. I’m always like a child on Christmas morning and last year was no exception! It was our first Christmas in our new house so it was already a special one for me. We went downstairs together to open our presents, I was sitting beside the tree and was getting to pick out the presents, when I noticed a large envelope that hadn’t been there the night before. I was puzzled as it had my name on the front, so curiosity got the better of me so I opened it first. Inside was a large card “To my fiancée at Christmas.” As I finished reading it Padhraig asked me to marry him as he held out the most beautiful ring! I was delighted, I didn’t expect it at all as he had always said he would never propose at Christmas!”
Our engagement shoot
“Our engagement photo shoot was included in our package and I thought it was wonderful as we have so little photos of us together and this was a great opportunity to get some professional photos. We chose Drumcovvit Barn, Feeny as this is where we have decided to have our wedding photos. We chose here for two reasons; firstly we thought the juxtaposition of the casual engagement photos and the formal wedding photos in the same location would be nice, and secondly it gave Lynn and ourselves a chance to get to know the location and find the nicest spots for certain photos.
Lynn made us feel so relaxed, most of the time we forgot she was even there which was great because she was able to capture some beautiful natural moments between me and Padhraig.”
“We are getting married on 30th April 2016. We got everything organised for the wedding early in the engagement so we have very little left to do. I have enjoyed every minute of it and would recommend anyone who has just got engaged to go to as many bridal fayres as possible they give you so many ideas and possibilities as well as allowing you to view so many talented professionals work all in the same place.”
