The Awesome Anemone

April 14, 2016
Anemone wedding bouquet inspiration I The Promise NI

Good morning, isn’t it nice to see the weekend on the horizon?

Last night – after all that rain – my kids were chatting to our flower loving neighbour, she was teaching them about growing flowers and boy were they enjoying it! Her garden is awesome and I can’t wait until all her hard work really comes to life in the summer, with big bright blooms cheerfully waving from across the road. She has little anemones planted that like to open once the sun comes out and they reminded me of how much I really adore this delicate, romantic bloom.

Anemone wedding bouquet inspiration I The Promise NI

Perfect for spring weddings the anemone is charming and will really add a statement to your bouquet. Anemones are available in a stunning array of colours including shades of cream, pink, purple and even blue, whilst the large centres can be deep and rich black, black and white, and sometimes even yellow.

Untamed Romance: Contemporary & Vibrant Inspiration

March 30, 2016
Contemporary Styled Bridal Shoot I Photography by Marc Lawson I The Promise NI

Good morning, did you have a fabulous Easter break? I hope so!

Today I am beyond thrilled to share the results of our very special bridal inspiration shoot that we shot in March. For the first official shoot for the blog, I was nervous, but with the most mega team behind me, well I had no reason to be! Early morning with snow on the ground, Lynne and I left Tyrone and headed for the coast. Thankfully, we left the snow behind us, somewhere around Moneymore and headed North to Portrush where we were using the incredible sea view restaurant space/building site attached to KoKo Cafe on Castle Erin Street in Portrush – nearby coffee, we’re smart ladies.

Wanting to reflect the colourful persona of the blog the inspiration was always going to be modern romance with vibrant shades, and with Stacey Kilpatrick on makeup duty, Jil from The Stables Flower Co. on flowers and Marc Lawson capturing every detail, well we’ll let the images speak for themselves….

Grooms Gifts

Ok, so a brand spanking new wife is a pretty awesome gift for any man but it can be a lovely touch to send a gift to your husband-to-be on the morning of the wedding to let him know you’re thinking of him. Have a look at our gift ideas to surprise your groom, and earn yourself some serious wife points before you’ve even made it up the aisle!

Grooms Gifts

From top, left to right:

Watch: For a traditional gift that you know your groom will love, you can’t go far wrong with a watch! We love everything from the Daniel Wellington range, available from Bogues Jewellers, Omagh.

Bracelet: This leather plaited bracelet available from Bella Mia Boutique, Ballymoney would make a great surprise gift for your groom. The smart leather finish makes this bracelet a great option to wear after the wedding and the clasp could be engraved with your wedding date for a personal touch. (No excuses for forgetting any anniversaries boys!)

Beard Balm: We love this natural beard balm from local suppliers The Beardy Beard Co, Belfast. Crafted using shea butter, cocoa butter and beeswax, this beard balm will keep your groom’s whiskers in check, and make sure he’s looking suitably sleek for the big day.

Cufflinks: A popular choice for brides to surprise their man with on the big day is some stylish cufflinks! They can be worn on the wedding day, and for many other occasions after, making them the perfect gift. These Hugo Boss cufflinks are available from Cruise in Victoria Square, Belfast.

Socks: You can never go wrong with socks! These groom socks are available from Red Groomswear, Cookstown and Belfast.

Hip flask: It’s not often hip flasks and chic are mentioned in the same sentence, but this leather option from Not On The High Street is just that. The shape and leather cladding is discreet and a personalised message will make a great keepsake. This is perfect for any groom who might need a tipple to calm those last minute jitters.

Weekend bag: Heading off on honeymoon and want to surprise your man with some luxury luggage? This Mulberry Clipper is a total classic that he’ll have forever and will remind him of his wedding day every time he uses it.
