And – we’re on the home stretch to summer!
We trust you all had a lovely Easter break, scoffed too many chocolate eggs and chilled out with your nearest and dearest.
It’s back to bridal business this morning, and we are delighted to share the stylish wedding of Victoria and Victor Dallas, featuring the unmistakable talents of Kris Dickson Photography with their late summer wedding at Drenagh Estate.
Victoria first met Victor through work;
“I was living and working in Marbella, Spain at the time. Victor has his own business in real estate in NI and the company I worked for worked in association with the overseas arm of his business,” explained Victoria.
It was to be whilst holidaying in another popular European city where Victor popped the question.
“Victor had taken me to Amsterdam for my birthday. On the eve of my birthday we were in a lovely restaurant and he proposed. He had actually carried the ring in his pocket the entire journey, he even took it out and put it in the tray to be scanned at the airport, without me noticing! I had thought he was being a little strange but not realised why!” Victoria added.
Back home, the thought of planning the wedding didn’t phase Victoria who owns a wedding decor business, The Wedding Room NI. She already had a good idea of what she liked and how she planned to see it all come together. Once they had secured their dream venue, Drenagh Estate, in January, the date was set for September, eight months later.
“Victors motto throughout the planning was if I couldn’t do it then no one could, so he left most of the planning to me until it came to his suits and picking a band!” Said Victoria.
Victoria chose classical and elegant styling for the day using neutral tones of silver, white and ivory, teamed with lush florals.
Love that Victor found time to fit in a game of badminton before the ceremony!!
The couple were married under the September sun in the Moon garden on the estate, whilst their reception was held in the marquee within the Secret Garden.
“The day was perfection – the sun shone and the cocktails and champagne flowed. Games on the lawn were enjoyed by guests, it was a surreal moment to see every one you know enjoying your special day. There really were so many highlights! It may sound cliché but we both agree that the whole day was like a dream – we had everything we wanted and more, everything and every part was truly amazing!” said Victoria.
Victoria’s advice for other couples
“Be true to yourselves and host a wedding day that has your personalities stamped all over it. No amount of planning prepares you for seeing it all come together and to have your own family and friends be there for you and share your wedding day, it really is an amazing life highlight.”
