Spring Celebration by Story of Eve: Denise + Stephen

Ballymagarvey Village wedding by Story of Eve

A very warm and cosy Monday morning hello to you all!

The weather is really starting to get a bit rubbish isn’t it? Before you kick off the week might I suggest you go get a cup of something warm and take five minutes to have a look at Denise and Stephen’s beautiful wedding film by Michael at Story of Eve? I promise it will give you all the warm and fuzzies needed to take you right through Monday!

Denise and Stephen were married near Newry and travelled to the beautiful Ballymagarvey Village in Balrath for their reception.

“Deciding on a home or abroad wedding was hard. Italy is our favourite country having visited many cities and we would have loved to get married there. Having experienced two weddings quite close together, one at home and one in Italy, when it came to making the decision I think we both felt nothing could beat a home wedding, and for us nothing compared to Ballymagarvey Village, the venue my sister got married in 2014.  We instantly fell in love with Ballymagarvey, it’s such a unique, private venue. I always knew if I got married it would be in Cloughoge Church in Newry as it was the church we always went to and the grounds and setting of it is beautiful,” explained Denise.

The couple were married on April, 14th and decided to incorporate lots of spring floral touches into their day. Using cherry blossoms and tulips, Elaine from Ditsy Floral Design in Loughbrickland created a stunning floral treat for both Denise and Stephen and their guests.

“Saying our vows for me was my favourite memory. That feeling in my stomach of nerves rolled into happiness. I love how Michael captured these especially in the preview, it just gives me chills watching and listening to them.  Another favourite was walking into our reception hall in Ballymagarvey and seeing all the people we love cheering us in was overwhelming,” added Denise.

Advice for other couples

“Be true to yourselves as a couple, discuss what you both would like and want from the day. Do everything you want, don’t have regrets as this is one day you will never get back. Get a video, it is one of those things people do not want to pay the added expense for but I honestly believe it is worth every penny. Do not let yourselves get stressed over silly things that may happen on the run up to it or on the day, these things do not matter and the likelihood is you may be the only person to notice it.  I know a lot of people say this but your day just goes in so fast, so take a deep breath and try and take all that you can in. Remember to take time out for yourselves, we did this on our drive to the venue and it was lovely just having those 40 minutes alone time with my husband.”
