Hello Wednesday! From the dress to the brides beaming smile, today’s wedding by Campbell Photography is pretty special. Kellie and Stuart were married in a little country church in Newmills, County Tyrone, posed in Kellie’s dad’s woodshed for photos and then headed to the city for a chic evening reception at the plush Merchant Hotel. We’ve it all wrapped up in one easy blog post for you, so what are you waiting for… read on!
Stuart worked in a car showroom which was right beside the filling station Kellie’s family own, where she worked. Stuart came in everyday to chat her up and after three years, yes, three years, the purchasing of plenty of sweet treats and diligent chatting up worked and the pair became a couple! They were engaged on a normal Friday night in November, as Kellie explained;
“Both Stuart and I work very long hours and rarely get days off together but I had booked this particular Friday off and we headed to Belfast for the day. We didn’t arrive back from Belfast until after 11 that night. When I got into bed and turned off the lights written on the ceiling were the words ‘Will you marry me?’ in glow in the dark stars! It was so cute and romantic.”
Kellie admits to not having thought much about her perfect wedding until after they got engaged, but they both agreed they wanted a short engagement. After looking at a few places they were drawn to the buzz of Belfast and visited the Merchant Hotel who had a free weekend in September which suited them, so the venue was booked and plans soon fell into place.
Stuart and Kellie planned a classic and smart wedding with Kellie’s Elizabeth Stuart ‘Cherry Blossom’ gown from The White Gallery Boutique, Warrenpoint setting the tone for the day. The amazing gown featured a soft pink sash which was complimented with the soft pink rose bouquet she carried, designed by one of our favourite florists, Janice Watt at The Flower Studio, Dungannon. Kellie’s bridesmaids wore handmade gowns in the softest blue each with different necklines to suit the girls own tastes. Little Grace, the cutest flower girl ever wore a pretty ruffled detail gown to match her Auntie Kellie’s masterpiece!
Kellie and Stuart took a very relaxed approach to wedding planning, as Kellie says, “it’s good fun and should be enjoyable, not stressful!”
“This sounds so corny but there were honestly so many highlights from the day but we both loved having the entire wedding guest photo taken on the steps of the Merchant. Everyone had to walk through the narrow hallways of the hotel and out to the main steps that look over Cathedral Quarter. It was dark all for the street lights and Culture Night was on so the streets were buzzing. The crowds on the other side of the street were cheering us on for all our photos. It was such a memorable part of the day for us,” explained Kellie.
