Today’s engagement shoot from one of our lovely sponsors, Sarah Bryden, contains cows – yes they are the prettiest cows you will see in a long time!

Of course, there’s a fab couple too, Judith and Graeme, who met through mutual friends and after a couple of Young Farmers events they began dating.

The Proposal

Dairy farmer, Graeme is extremely laid back and after three years together Judith thought the big question might never come!

“We went to my family holiday home in Dunfanaghy, Donegal every year at Halloween to celebrate our anniversary. On the third year we went as usual and on the Saturday we decided to go for a walk to Tramore beach, its only accessible by a long walk through sand dunes. I wanted to collect driftwood for an art project so Graeme had a bag to put it in. Unbeknown to me he had sneaked in a bottle of Champagne, strawberries, two glasses and a packet of Haribo! Graeme popped the question and I got my candy ring! We had always joked, both being from dairy farms that the only ring we’d ever be able afford would be a Haribo one, so he thought he was being funny! We went via Londonderry to Lunn’s on the way home and chose a platinum three diamond ring to seal the deal. And Graeme had done the honourable thing and got Daddy’s permission too which was important to me.”

Our Engagement Shoot

“Having both been brought up on dairy farms and having a love of cows we thought it was fitting to take advantage of the beautiful scenery, old farm buildings and Graeme’s already professional posing show cows… the star being family favourite Poppy the jersey. We’re very fond of our farm dogs too and the whole thing just turned out really sentimental and the photos couldn’t be more perfect for us. It was also a great compromise to get a reluctant farmer to participate!”

Choosing Sarah

“I initially loved Sarah’s work because of the natural laid back style of her photos and felt like it would suit us. I also wanted to keep things as local as possible so the planning would be easier to manage nearer the wedding and on meeting Sarah I knew she was perfect for us. She has a wonderful nature and was so excited about our e-shoot with a difference. She put Graeme completely at ease and has left us with no worries about the wedding photos at all.”

The Wedding

“Our wedding is on the 6th August this year at First Omagh Presbyterian and then on to the Killyhevlin Lakeside Hotel. We’re hoping to stop at Tempo Manor for photos on the way down. We’re hoping to go to Canada on honeymoon, but like a whole lot of other things its not booked yet!
