Happy Black Friday! I hope you’ve all had a great week?
Have you picked up any bargains today? I’m not a huge lover of the whole crazy sale thing, but then (and I’m about to gloat), I have my Christmas shopping pretty much finished! There’s a first time for everything, this never happens but for some strange reason this year we are almost ready.
We’re ending the week on a wedding high with Judy and Gary’s floral fabulous wedding in Darver Castle, photographed by Francis Meaney Photography.
Judy describes Gary as the carrot to her peas – sweetest thing ever?!
The couple met in a bar five years ago but at the time Judy was in a relationship, but as luck would have it a year later, with Judy single they met again and got talking.
“When I saw him I knew instantly that I wanted to chat to him, bless him I don’t think I gave him any other option!” Judy said.
Gary proposed whilst on holiday in Las Vegas last September and the couple immediately began planning their wedding for the next year.
“When I started to plan everything seem to come pretty easy. I’m generally a very decisive person and that really helped – I saw it, I liked it, I got it! I did make a spread sheet from the get go, listing all the individual things and what I wanted to spend, this was a great way of keeping track. There was no plan as such I just started with the big things first, and worked my way through it. I had an image in my head from the start and found mood boards are a must! Pinterest became my obsession – doesn’t it for every bride?!” explained Judy.
With a classic feel to their day, Judy and Gary chose a navy, champagne and gold colour scheme and complemented the overall feel with a lot of greenery and foliage. “I absolutely love greenery, and my church is very large so I wanted it to look well dressed, Kathryn from The Posy Barn really made the ceremony look amazing!” added Judy.
Judy wore a champagne satin ballgown by Allure which worked perfectly with Gary’s classic dark navy tuxedo, and her bridesmaids indigo Watters dresses.
“Our day was the best day of our lives. In the morning the rain came down but I’d say to any future brides do not worry this definitely will not put a dampener on your day! Everything flowed perfectly, we were so lucky that nothing went wrong and I couldn’t have asked for anything better, Darver Castle was just absolutely first class.
Its extremely hard to pin point one highlight but if we had to choose the highlight for both of us was the moment we both came side by side at the top of the aisle, nothing can describe how ridiculously happy you are at this point, it’s like seeing each other for the first time all over again!” said Judy.
