Good morning and welcome to a new, and very exciting week at The Promise.
I hope you all had a lovely weekend, with Love at the Linen Green just three days away, I should have spent the weekend calmly getting ready for the week. Well, that doesn’t happen in Promise HQ, no instead we were on full-on DIY mode! One kids bedroom transformed, two to go.
Today we’re heading straight to gorgeous County Fermanagh, to share hair salon owner, Julie’s incredible wedding to Mark. Julie wore an Inbal Dror gown accessorised with jewel encrusted Jimmy Choo’s – a bride who know’s what she loves, sounds good to me! Thanks to Lou and Louie from The Lou’s for sharing this incredible day with us.
Julie and Mark met by chance in a pub in Belleek in July 2012, and around ten months into their relationship Julie knew it was strong. Mark proposed two years later at Sydney harbour taking Julie by complete surprise!
Once home the couple began planning their Big Day and immediately contacted Lough Erne Resort in the hope their preferred date, April 30th, was free. “The Lough Erne was where we always said we would have our wedding if we got married, we were delighted our date was free. After that it was full steam ahead with the planning. My phone was coming down with screenshots of wedding dresses, flowers, cakes, hair styles and so on. We decided to allocate most of our budget on the dress, venue and entertainment,” explained Julie.
Obviously a girl who loves her style, Julie chose a soft and romantic rose gold colour scheme which added warmth and richness to the soft ivory palette of the fluffy rose and hydrangea bouquets and her Inbal Dror wedding gown. “I chose my dress at Kathy de Stafford in Dublin, it was the second shop I went to and fell totally in love with it. My bridesmaid Aileen had saw it in a magazine and sent me a photo months prior and we then happened to see it on a poster in the boutique, I think it was meant to be,” added Julie. Mark and his groomsmen wore classic navy tuxedo’s edged with black and black bowties.
“The day was amazing, everything went so perfect! We had the best day ever and would do it all again in a heartbeat. It is really hard to pinpoint a highlight as it was all so brilliant but for us a highlight was walking down the aisle as Mr & Mrs and seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces, and of course the partying later on that night – we had a great lively crowd!” said Julie.
Enjoy it all. Don’t wish the days away, enjoy the planning. The run up is such a good time, and take the week of the wedding off, make a week of it. Brides – take time choosing your dress, make sure it’s one you won’t look back on and regret. On the day try get a few minutes together alone to take it all in. Choose your photographer and videographer wisely, The Lou’s and Complete Wedding Video’s were a dream the day of our wedding.
