Can we all take a second to enjoy that view; clear blue skies! Yes, the brighter and lovelier days of spring are almost here (we’re getting quite the lovely sunny treat here in Tyrone today) and whilst we all bask in the joy of Pancake Tuesday I thought there was no better time to share Laura and Ryan’s glorious summer wedding with you all. Thanks to Brideen and Deci of Simple Tapestry for sharing this beauty with us.
Laura and Ryan first met at the Botanic Inn in May 2009. From their very first meeting they both felt like they had know each other for years, the connection was instant.
“Ryan proposed in April 2013 in Mullaghmore, Sligo while going for a walk on the beach with our dog Bear. I went for a slight tumble on the rocks and when I got back up again Ryan was beside me with the ring in his hand!”
The couple both knew they wanted a summer wedding, and chose to marry 14 months later at the Clandeboye Lodge in Bangor.
“I used Pinterest for a lot of ideas on themes and colour schemes but ended up simply choosing what we both liked instead of a strong theme. I got my dress from Jenny Lindop in Bangor. When trying on dresses I knew that I couldn’t go for anything that sat out too much as the aisle I was walking down wasn’t very wide. I love the combination of lace and silk and when I tried my dress on I knew it was the one I wanted. For the bridesmaids dresses, my maids and myself visited Coast with the intention of having a look at their options. Within the hour we all fell in love with the same one, the colour and style was exactly what I was looking for.”
I adore the floral bouquet on the wedding car, check out other ways to personalise your wedding transport here.
“The whole day was full of highlights but in particular walking down the aisle as husband and wife to Niall and Bronagh singing Bob Marley’s Three Little Birds was an amazing feeling. It was a beautiful hot summers day and we both had an amazing day, there were a few mishaps along the way but this only added to the relaxed atmosphere. Our stunning cake went for a tumble, due to the chocolate cake at the bottom melting because if the heat…it still tasted and looked amazing!”
