If her sister brought long sleeve lace gowns back onto the bridal fashion scene (where they’ve remained ever since!), what I took from Pippa Middleton’s choice of Giles Deacon wedding gown was the high neck, and of course the sheer beauty of the lace creation.
I’ve always been a lover of a high neck line and I was over the moon when I caught a glimpse of Pippa’s dress. If you’re on the bridal hunt for a gown with a fashionable edge I don’t think you can go wrong with a modern high cut neckline, although they aren’t a look everyone can carry off.
All in the name of research I’ve found some pretty inspiration for you, and thrown in a few of my favourites currently on the bridal market:
Embellished from head to toe with metallic embroidery this sheer overdress reimagines a high-neck silhouette and works perfectly over a shift dress. Designed by Amoralle, available from BHLDN.
Belle by Suzanne Neville features a simple gathered neckline and form fitting silhouette.
Hunter by Sottero & Midgley features a statement making illusion lace halter neckline and open back.
