Good morning! I hope you all had a lovely time over the long weekend?
Lush and abundant bouquets are up there with the top running wedding trends this year, but not every bride wants to carry a large bouquet. This morning I’ve been looking for inspiration to prove that big isn’t always better; a pretty little posy can be just as stunning.
How to carry off a pretty little posy:
Getting your bridal bouquet just right and in proportion to your overall frame and shape of dress is pretty important. Too big and you’ll drown out your silhouette (petite brides, take note!), and of course too small and it will disappear in photographs.
Using minimal numbers of large blooms such as roses or hydrangea will give your bouquet the focal point you’re after, whilst also looking gorgeous.
The brides bouquet should be larger in scale to that of her maids. With a small bouquet consider single stems of your focal bloom for your girls, romantic and so easy to carry. Floral bracelets also look stunning and are easier for maids to manage throughout the day.
Smaller posies are great for brides who are aware of their budget, as obviously a smaller bouquet will include less blooms and therefore cost less.
You should remember you will be carrying your flowers all day, so make sure you are comfortable holding it! A posy is perfect and can be carried with one hand.
Relax when holding your bouquet, there’s nothing worse than a bride who appears to be hiding behind her flowers! Plus, you don’t want to hide any beautiful detail of your dress, so show it off.
