Today we’re sharing Nadine and Joseph’s Lough Rynn Castle wedding which was full of personal touches, a chic pale pink and white colour palette, Vera Wang gown and was captured by the very lovely Erica Irvine Photography. I’ve been so excited to share their day, and my seven year old son loved that the couple had Marty Mone perform ‘Hit The Diff’ at their reception!
After meeting on Boxing night in 2009, Nadine and Joseph soon knew their relationship was for life.
Skip forward a couple of years and they headed to New York for a winter break.
“We both had always wanted to see New York at Christmas. I had told Joseph that my favourite spot in Central Park was the Alice in Wonderland Monument, so after watching the Thanksgiving parade we went to Central Park and he got down on one knee. It was the most amazing day and the perfect end to our holiday,” said Nadine.
With two years to plan their perfect day, Nadine and Joseph began their search by choosing the venue, settling very easily on Lough Rynn Castle in Mohill, County Leitrim.
“I found visiting wedding fayres more confusing due the huge amount of choice, so I decided to look for people that I loved from their previous work and this made planning the wedding much more exciting!” added Nadine.
With a loosely chosen colour palette of the palest pink and white, Nadine added hints of her favourite accent, rose gold to her soft and romantic scheme.
“When I started to look at wedding dresses online, I didn’t know what style I wanted and knew the only way to find to find out was to try them on. I soon found out that there was only one or two styles that suited me. I started searching again online and found my Vera Wang Lark dress. It was from the 2013 collection and so went searching for for a dress like it. We had planned a surprise trip to London for my mum, so when we where there I had booked an appointment at the Vera Wang store to try the dress on. As they say, I got the feeling and knew this was my dress. The staff where amazing and it was a very exciting day when the big box landed in Fintona!” explained Nadine.
“I don’t think we can chose one part as a highlight, we both really enjoyed the ceremony. The whole day was full of great memories, everything went smoothly. Joseph had surprised me with a horse and carriage that morning to take me and my mum to the chapel. He didn’t know the size of my dress and so it took two men holding and pushing to get me in! Good to have a laugh and a few funny photos from that one. We also had a big surprise that was organised by Joseph’s sister Helen. She had arranged for us to have Marty Mone singing ‘Hit The Diff’ when we were walking into the reception. It was a great way to get the party mood started!” added Nadine.
Chose what you both love! Everyone will be full of advice and have different opinions but as a couple you will know what will make your day special for you. Enjoy every minute of your day, it goes so fast but will be full of memories that you will talk about for years.
