Good evening and welcome to our second gorgeous wedding of the week, also coming from Corick House Hotel & Spa in Clogher. With a country theme which reflects her love of the NI countryside, Stephanie planned a day full of surprises and cute additions, including the novelty tractor wedding cake for her little son and complimenting tractor cupcakes for the guests. Brimming with love, happiness and impeccable style it’s a pleasure to share Stephanie and Alastair’s day, photographed by Jake Samuels Photography.
Stephanie and Alastair first met during the North West race weekend eight years ago. After being introduced by friends the pair immediately hit it off.
“From the first second friends introduced us it was a laugh a minute between us both! With a witty personality and a smile always on his face Ali had me hook, line and sinker from the very start!” said Stephanie.
Alastair picked another beach location to pop the question in April 2013, followed by dinner in the Whistledown Hotel before they rushed home to tell their family the happy news.
“From the second Ali asked me to marry him I couldn’t wait to get planning! And with my amazing best friend of seven years and chief bridesmaid by my side I knew it was going to be fun! The wedding planners flooded through the door and with so many I gave my chief bridesmaid one and I kept another. We sat on the phone for hours some nights discussing and writing plans for the day!” said Stephanie.
“The theme for our wedding was country. I love handmade things, florals and lace and with building a new house in the country I though we would embrace the start of our new journey together in our wedding day,” added Stephanie.
After a recommendation from a friend Stephanie visited Creative Ideas Bridal in Armagh where she immediately fell in love with three dresses. “Charlene, the owner knew exactly what I was after and I left really happy but unsure as to which dress to go for! When I went back for another look Charlene took out a dress that blew my mind! It was everything I wanted with a beautiful striking front a long lace train and a elegant diamond encrusted back,” said Stephanie.
“Our day went magically, even with a little rain on both the way in and out of the church. It just flew by, everyone told us it would be gone in a second and my fantastic hairdresser and friend Suzanne Strain told me to make sure at some in the day to take 20 minutes to ourselves to sit back and relax and be together. This is definitely a piece of advice I would pass on to anyone else. You put your heart and soul in to planning and designing your wedding day making the days and months before so busy. As we sat down that day for the 20 minutes we saw how everything had just flew by for the past two years of our life! We had a wonderful little boy and built our new family home together and there we were married as husband and wife. We were so excited to be sharing it all together,” said Stephanie.
