Peony Bridal wedding dress trends

Whilst a lot of brides-to-be don’t set out looking for a trend lead bridal gown, many fall in love with the styles that are currently proving most popular – strapless dress of the early 90’s, yes all the brides wore them! Today we’re getting a glimpse into the goings on at Peony Bridal in Hillsborough. The lovely owner Elsebeth recently shared her top three new looks that are coming in store this season, of course we had to share! All in the name of research.

If you’re about to embark on bridal shopping here’s a pretty handy guide from the archives to help you get ready – Six Things: Before You Go Dress Hunting

Ok, over to Elsebeth…

Look One: Outfit changes

Whether it be removing the new veil trend of a bridal cape, detaching an over-skirt or a total outfit change, changing up your look from day to night will be huge in 2019. I loved how Kaley Cuoco from The Big Bang Theory went from a sophisticated gown and cape combo to a bridal evening jumpsuit – swoon!

If you love a jumpsuit we have the perfect Bianco Evento jumpsuit available, it’s under £700 meaning you can afford that second look!

More jumpsuit inspiration…

A very different look for an evening style, it would make a fabulous change if the day dress was uber traditional!

For the effect of a dress change you could choose a detachable over skirt…

St Patrick, Almagro with tulle detachable skirt available from Peony Bridal
Mark Lesley & Pronovias St Patrick gowns both featuring detachable over skirts for the wow factor, available from Peony Bridal

Look Two: 3D Embroidery

The bigger the better, whether it be fitted with a mega train or simply big and ballgown beautiful we are expecting a lot more 3D embroidery, especially with a hint of colour (think gold and lavender). More and more unconventional brides are popping up in Northern Ireland, those not afraid to be different , go against the grain of traditional colours and even daring to bare the flesh – we love it!

Donna Salado, blush plunge Kate gown
Ida Torez Lambis Truncata gown available from Peony Bridal

Look Three: The simple Meghan effect dress!

As always we love a good influencer and the Meghan Markle style dress with bateau neckline will be a winner in 2019.

Justin Alexander – 8936 gown
Bianco Evento, Nicole gown, available from Peony Bridal. Amazing price point of under £1000 for dress and matching veil!
