Good morning you lovely lot, I trust the weekend was good to you!
We’re kicking off Monday with Una and Colm’s beautiful wedding at Corick House Hotel in Clogher. With a David Fielden gown, pretty stationery from The White Letter and fantastic images from Alexandra Barfoot, it’s one you don’t want to miss, so grab a coffee and we’ll begin.
Una and Colm were introduced through a mutual friend in Mint nightclub in Cookstown six years ago. With Una studying in Dundee and Colm working in Belfast their relationship began as a long distance relationship one but after their first holiday together in Crete they knew it was for life.
“Colm proposed in August 2012. He had planned an escape to the North coast, but I scuppered his plans after a long and tiring first week at work. It was a beautiful day and we ended up going for a walk. As we turned back he got down on one knee and proposed,” said Una.
Starting with their choice of venue, Una and Colm worked through their wedding plans together.
“Myself and Colm are from the same locality but his extended family are from Fermanagh so we wanted a venue in between and Corick House felt right. After that we set about ticking off a list getting inspiration from magazines, blogs and Pinterest and took advice from friends and family,” added Una.
With no strong theme in mind Una simply wanted to keep the day romantic and fresh, and as it was May she choose blush and neutral tones and lots of fresh flowers.
“After some research on different designers I visited five shops. I visited Blush Boutique on the Lisburn Road, and in person the David Fielden collection was more beautiful than I had imagined. My dress had lace and bow detail on the back which first drew my eye and I had to try it on. When I walked out in it my mum and sister were there and we all knew it was perfect from the first viewing,” explained Una.
“The day went incredibly smoothly and too fast! We were even blessed with the weather! Colm and I share the same highlight and that is meeting each other at the top of the aisle,” said Una.
Una’s Advice: It was the advice I had been given by friends but it was very true. Relax and enjoy your day and give yourself a cut off point from your official duties to just enjoy the best party of your life.
