A very happy Thursday evening to you all! It’s almost the weekend, so Valentines day is just around the corner, are you in for a treat this weekend? Tonight on our Week of Love we have a delightful engagement shoot by Connor McCullough Photography, I love the setting; Dunluce Castle.
Our Love Story
“We met at church in Cambridge when Connie was studying Arabic and I was doing a PGCE. I asked Connie out for coffee – quite a few times. She visited Northern Ireland that Summer, I visited the North East where she was from, then Connie went to Jordan for her year abroad. I visited her in Jordan, and the rest is history.”
“We were in Loch Lomond in Scotland. It’s Connie’s favourite place; she’s been going there since she was born with her family every October. I suggested a walk along the edge of the loch on Sunday morning before breakfast. It was raining, which was perfect because Connie loves the rain. We walked and talked, and I took out a little box, got down on one knee in a puddle next to a yellow sea plane, and Connie dropped her umbrella and said yes!”
Our Engagement Shoot
“We wanted something nice to remember our engagement with, and some of our friends and family had done an engagement shoot. We both love the North Coast up near the Giant’s Causeway and Dunluce Castle. When Connie visited me during the summer after we met, I took her up there to walk along the coast and look across to Scotland, so it seemed like an obvious and beautiful choice to be the setting for these pictures. We also love Portstewart and the promenade there, so we thought it would be good to get some snaps by the coast there too. It’s basically a condensed version of our favourite spots in Northern Ireland, and places that are special to us. Connor was brilliant, and we had a great time shooting with him, despite the temperature (which was minus 3 degrees!). We were both a bit worried we would find shooting a bit cheesy or awkward, but it was really relaxed and good fun. We love the way the photos have turned out!”
Our Wedding Day
“We’re getting married this August – eep! We haven’t found anything too stressful as of yet. We are surprisingly well-organised so as to avoid too much overlap with wed-min and Connie’s finals in June, so at the moment we have most things sorted, including an exciting honeymoon to the Azores and a beautiful venue in the North East of England.”
