A very warm good morning! Welcome to the Week of Love here at The Promise, I hope you all had a lovely weekend, wasn’t the weather just lovely. After all those dark and wet days, a little burst of sunshine was just what we needed.
As love is in the air thanks to Valentines Day I thought why not share some local stories of love and marriage with you this week. I hope you’ll join me as I share their beautiful stories of love and inspiration, starting this morning with Louise and Christy. I am having total hair envy over Louise’s hair, so gorgeous, and a little shoe envy, oh and dress envy! Photographed by Denise at DL Photography it was an elegant and modern day using tones of grey and ivory.
“Christy and I met 10 years ago whilst we were out with friends, we hit it off straight away and haven’t looked back since. When we bought our first house and made it a home, I knew that was it, I’d found my forever partner. Christy proposed on my 28th birthday and I really didn’t expect it! We had a BBQ where all our friends and family were there. He proposed when we were own our own and we celebrated with everyone after. He proposed with his mums engagement ring then couple of days later we went to Dublin to collect the ring Christy had chosen from Tiffany’s in Brown Thomas. He selected well because I loved it!”
Louise, a photographer herself turned to wedding blogs, just like The Promise for inspiration and ideas for her day. With the help of family and friends she planned a simple and classic wedding day to Christy with an elegant grey and ivory colour scheme.
Her stunning all over lace gown was from Logan’s Bridal in Cloughmills, which looked amazing with her perfectly styled brunette curls. She was attended by her four maids who wore grey and ivory gowns and carried lush ivory bouquets. Louise walked up the aisle surrounded in cherry blossom trees, a stunning addition to the day from florist, David McConkey.
“The Best man forgot the rings and didn’t realised until he was at the chapel! He had to run home to get them, good job I was a little late! Other than that the day was perfect. My highlight was walking down the isle after the ceremony, seeing all our friends and family and taking a deep breath. Then going on the reception and enjoying every minute.”
I adore the stunning cake by Jenny’s Cakes, Bangor, notice who the lace matches Louise’s wedding gown!
