Week of Love: Anna & Conors E-Shoot

Wow, that was a wintery one last night- we are so glad to be on this side of it, and full of love and fun with todays Week of Love couple. Shot in various locations around the Cathedral Quarter in Belfast by Gillian Higgins Photography, Californian Anna and Coleraine man Conor are an awesome couple with a simple story of love…

Our love story:

“I met Conor when I moved to Northern Ireland to do an internship at the local church Conor attended. Conor says he was blown away by my beauty and we couldn’t help but quickly become close friends. We were friends for nearly a year when Conor and some friends took a trip to my native land of California. There he piped up the nerve to ask me out and I excitedly said yes!”

The big question:

“In September 2013 Conor took me on a surprise trip down to the south of Ireland to show me where he had grown up.We visited his first home, the seaside village where he spent many of his childhood summers, and then went to one of the most picturesque vistas hidden in the countryside of County Wicklow – Powerscourt Waterfall. We had a lovely picnic but Conor ate very little because of his nerves! Then we walked up to a lovely viewpoint on the other side of the waterfall, completely secluded and gave me a box filled with letters about his love for me. He then got down on one knee and through tears asked me to be his wife. It was magical!”

Our E-Shoot:

“We wanted to have an engagement shoot because it would give us photos of us to keep forever that were different from our wedding photos. We also wanted to use some of the photos for part of our wedding! We are really glad we did and Gillian and Tim made it so easy and fun and they knew of a few cool locations around the area that turned out to be the perfect spots for the photos! We decided to take our photos in Belfast because we wanted the location to be very different from the setting of photographs for our wedding, which will be mostly outdoors. We also live in the city and were excited about a cool urban shoot.”

Our wedding plans:

“Our Wedding is June 10, 2014, we will be getting married outside at Limepark Cottages, followed by a reception at Lissanoure Castle. Planning has been pretty good, it has been a little tough because I am not from around here and have had to rely heavily on friends and Conor’s family for advice and help. I’ve also found it tough not having my mom and best friend close at hand to plan, make and stress out with! The one thing we wish is that there were more vendors, more venues, and more caterer options so that it was a bit easier to plan on a budget!”
