Today we’re welcoming Ciara and Neil back to the blog, as we share their wonderful autumn wedding at Killyhevlin Hotel in Enniskillen. Over a year ago this lovely couple shared their engagement session, you can catch up on the beginning of their love story, here. One of our favourites, Marc Lawson was again behind the lens capturing all the perfect tiny details, right down to the blackberries in Ciara’s hair- the prettiest headwear, ever – and the incredible dessert table!
After getting engaged at Solis Lough Eske, Ciara set to work planning her big day – luckily she loves weddings and everything that goes with them!
“I really enjoyed planning our wedding. I found wedding blogs really useful in finding ideas for suppliers and some of the finer details. We just took it all in our stride and enjoyed every minute of it. We didn’t allow ourselves to get stressed out about any of it as it’s just not worth it. The most important thing is to relax and enjoy the run up to the wedding as it’s such an exciting time.”
Ciara wore a silk crepe Jenny Packham gown which reflected the timeless, elegant look she wanted for her bridal attire. Her stunning makeup was applied by Stacey at S.A.K. Designs , whilst Claire from Vintage Rocks perfected her soft up style and floral arrangement. Ciara’s bridesmaid wore a soft pink ruched bodice dress with pearl cap sleeves from La Boda Bridal in Banbridge, whilst Neil and his grooms party wore navy suits purchased from SD Kells in Belfast.
The couple were married in St Patrick’s, Aghagallon and had chosen the popular Killyhevlin Hotel in Enniskillen for their reception. “As soon as we viewed the Killyhevlin we knew we would choose it as our venue as the view from the wedding room is beautiful. We were so glad we chose the Killyhevlin as they catered to our every need and provided a truly excellent service on the day.”
Ciara and her dad travelled to the ceremony in a grey Austin Westminster from Unity Cars. “Once I saw the Grey Austin Westminster on a wedding blog I knew that’s what we had to have! Declan, our driver, was such a gentleman and took so much pride in the car, you could just tell he loved driving it!”
Ciara and Neil were eager to keep their day simple with elements that reflected their personalities. “We selected our engagement location for the invitation suite and carried the images through to the mass booklets and signage on the day. Karla McNally at Bill&Coo did an amazing job with our stationery. Karla is so creative and nothing is any trouble to her. She understood exactly what we were trying to reflect in our wedding stationery and we were so happy with the results. We incorporated a trip around Ireland for our table plan and had photos of ourselves in the destinations on the tables to add a more personal touch.”
On arrival at the Killyhevlin Ciara and Neil had chosen to serve crepes as a treat for their guests. “Both of us love crepes and thought this would be a way to add a unique and personal touch to our day!”
“We had such a fun day. Both of us were totally relaxed and just set out to enjoy ourselves. We really enjoyed the journey to the reception venue as we were able to chill out and reflect on having just become husband and wife!”
Thanks to Conor Conlon at CMP Productions for sharing their wedding film, what a great extra little treat for us all!
